The villa Pays d'Oc is located in the residence "Le Domaine du Lac", a haven of peace in the beautiful private Gulf of St. Thomas, from where you can easily reach by car, all surrounding beaches, from the most peaceful as Sérignan or Marseillan, to the more lively Cap d'Agde with its marina, shops, restaurants,nightclubs and other casino. Other coastal towns are also near Béziers, as Valras or Portiragnes. The water quality is excellent and you can swim safely.
A little further is the "Bassin de Thau", famous for its production of mussels and oysters, that can be tasted in the restaurants of small ports around, such as Mèze, Bouzigues or in Sète , a city with multiple specialties, hometown of some french well known artists.
The picturesque Canal du Midi has its origin here. He joins Toulouse and extends through the Garonne, linking the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean. This is another tourist attraction of the region, for both the rural sites and original constructions like the canal bridge over the Orb river or the Fonserannes locks.
Béziers has all the resources of a large city. Many opportunities are available: restaurants, pubs, cafes, shops, ... A walk on the "Allées Paul Riquet" is a must. The weekly market is held every Friday in the center of the old city. There are many cultural activities: museums, libraries, theaters, cinemas ... Many events are organized throughout the summer, with, culminating in mid-August, the famous Feria. Sports are well present too, and many related activities are possible. The city is particularly famous for its rugby team. The architectural heritage is rich in many churches (Saint Nazaire Cathedral), arenas and some remarkable structures such as the Pont-Vieux. . A fifteen minute drive from the villa Pays d'Oc, is Pézenas, the city of the famous French playwright and actor, Molière. : The memory of the artist stays is still alive. In the old quarters, many mansions are jealously preserved. Many artisans settled in the city and offer not only their products but also introductory workshops and training to a wide range of craft techniques. Gourmets will find here many typical restaurants. The Saturday market is also an important event.
North of Béziers, runs one of the largest wine regions of France. The renowned appellations are multiple: Saint Chinian, Saint Jean de Minervois, Faugères ... The wine lovers will inevitably find something here to satisfy their expectations. Moreover, prices are generally very competitive.
A half an hour drive from the villa Pays d'Oc, these vineyards are located along the Regional Natural Park of Haut Languedoc. Here, nature lovers will be at home: in a wide variety of landscapes, mountains and gorges alternate with torrents and bogs. Hundreds of animal species, (including 250 of birds) live in the park. 2500 species of flowers and many species of fungi can be observed.
Finally, from Béziers, it is possible to reach Montpellier (75 km - 1 hour), Nimes (125 km, 1:30), Millau (130 km - 1h30), Narbonne (35 kms - 30 mins), Perpignan (95 km - 1h), Carcassonne (100 kms - 1 hour) and the Spanish border (125 km).
